Who needs the English Learner Designation?
The ELPD requirement is for professionally licensed teachers endorsed in:
- elementary
- math
- science
- social studies
- English language arts
to complete Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Education training or professional development (PD).
Educators holding endorsements in CLD, CLD Bilingual, LDE, or LDE Bilingual have met this requirement through those endorsements.
The English Learning (EL) designation is a one-time requirement* for all license renewals beginning September 1, 2025.
