Licensing: Designations, Renewal, and Requirements
Navigating the license renewal process can be complex. This section is designed to support TSD educators every step of the way.
Professional Learning Requirements:
Educator Effectiveness Evaluator Training (E-Train)
- Required for: All Principal and Administrator Credentials
- Effective: August 1, 2024
- One time requirement.
English Learner Professional Development Requirements
- Required for: Renewal of all elementary, English, math, science, social studies, or any middle level endorsements.
- Effective: September 1, 2025
- One time requirement.
Read Act - Teacher Designation Requirements
- Required for: All teachers teaching reading EC-5*, Reading Interventionists (4-12)
- Deadline: August 1 of each year.
- One time requirement.
Read act - Principal/Adminstrator designation Requirements
- Required for: All principals and administrators
- Deadline: August 1 of each year.
- One time requirement.
Special Education and Behavioral Health Requirements
- Required for: All teacher, principal, administrator, and special service provider license renewals.
- Effective: June 30, 2025
- Ongoing requirement.
